Few destinations on earth are more popular or exciting than the Caribbean. Even just hearing the name probably brings to mind images of white sand, blue ocean, sipping cocktails on the beach during the day, and dancing with locals in the evening. However, the Caribbean is far from one single place. It’s made up of more than seven-thousand different islands! This means that, if you’re looking for a holiday destination, you’re going to have to decide which island you want to spend your time on. And, believe it or not, there are actually a fair few differences between many of these islands. In order to make your decision just that little bit easier, here are some of best of the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

The British Virgin Islands

If you find nothing more exciting than being able to get out on the water and escape from the world for a while, then the world famous British Virgin Islands just might be perfect for you. Sailing holidays in the British Virgin Islands are widely considered to be some of the very best in the world. Sure, there’s plenty about the islands to explore on foot, but there’s something really special about exploring them on your own private boat. Whats even better is exploring under the waves by either scuba diving or snorkeling over the colorful coral reefs and through the waters teeming with vibrant life. Of an evening you can visit one of the many fun bars that are along the beach and relax in the chilled out atmosphere – this is truly island living.


If you’re looking for a place that has a little something for everyone, then Aruba is the place for you. If you’re planning a trip for the whole family, then there are plenty of activities that are perfect for grown-ups and kids alike. But if you’re after a more adult oriented vacation then the nightlife and casinos always have something fun to offer. Aruba is also pretty unique in terms of the landscape itself, being a little drier and more desert like than many others. Take a trip to Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, the two most beautiful on the island.  If you really want to explore the island, hire an ATV and have the freedom of the whole island. For something slightly different visit the lively butterfly farm on the island to see colours flying everywhere around you. 


There’s a pretty good reason why Barbados is one of the most famous holiday destinations in the Caribbean. Not only does it have a huge assortment of resorts that are suitable for just about any budget, but you’re never going to be short of something to do. Whether you just want to enjoy the beauty of the landscape or your want to head into the cities and towns and enjoy the rich and thriving culture, you’ll certainly never find yourself feeling bored, even for a moment. One of the most renowned attractions on the island is Hunte’s Gardens is run by the eccentric Anthony Hunte. Be transported into a serene and beautiful world of tropical flowers and amazing relaxing areas. After you have explored the lower area you can head up the the house where you will be invited in to try the legendary rum punch and lemonade!


Bermuda truly is the ideal destination for anyone whose idea of the perfect vacation is a touch of luxury. The British influence on this island is quite keenly felt, and it’s one of the few places in the Caribbean where you can get a really good cup of tea! The sheer luxury and elegance of this island is perfect for anyone who wants just to sit back, relax, and let the sun wash over them while eating delicious food and sipping on ice cold drinks. Of course, that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do! There are plenty of activities on the island including some world famous golf courses that court players from around the globe. Just don’t get lost in a triangle.
